The proceedings will include all paper presentations given during the symposium and will be handed out to all participants on arrival at the symposium venue.
Deadlines for authors
• Abstract as a WORD file (200 to 250 words) due 31 Mayl
• Full manuscript as WORD file (max. 10 pages) due 31 July
If you are able to prepare the manuscript before the deadline, we would be happy to receive it at an earlier stage.
Language
The official language of the symposium is English. Authors whose native language is not English are strongly advised to have their manuscript proofread by someone who has proficiency in English before submitting it. Manuscripts that need significant editing will not be accepted.
Technical data
• The text should be single-spaced when submitted
• 12 point characters in Times New Roman font should be used
• Pages should be numbered consecutively on the bottom right of the page
• A4 size paper with 2.5 cm margins on top, bottom and each side
• Three headings are to be used:
PRINCIPAL HEADING (bold in capital letters)
1 First subheading (bold, small capital letters)
1.1 Second subheading (bold, in italics)
1.1.1Third subheading(not bold, in italics)
1.1.1.1 Fourth and following subheadings (not bold, standard letters)
Manuscript layout
As an example how to prepare your manuscript please see the sample manuscript text (without tables and figures):
Submitted manuscripts should not exceed ten A 4 pages (single-spaced lines in Times New Roman letter-type) including all tables, figures, etc.
The manuscript should follow the conventional scientific writing style. The requested sequence is:
• Title (title of paper, name and full postal and addresses of each author)
• Keywords (up to 5)
• Abstract (200 to 250 words, reporting concisely on the purpose and results of the paper)
• Introduction (including objectives)
• Materials and methods
• Discussion/Conclusion
• Acknowledgements
• References
Tables, figures and Illustrations
Tables should be WORD processed. Tables, figures and illustrations shall all be delivered on separate sheets or files and numbered according to the order in which they are cited in the text. In the text, tables and figures must be referred to as (Table xyz) and (Fig. xyz). Tables and figures shall be provided on a separate sheet. Captions of tables (above the table) and captions of figures (below the figure) should be complete and understandable in their own right. Good colour figures, illustrations and pictures are well appreciated.
Conventions
Standard units, symbols and abbreviations should be used (cm, m, kg, t, °C, Pb, etc.). Units of measurement should comply with the international standards (SI units).
References
References to other authors cited in the text should be written:
(Adams, 1998) – only one author,
(Adams & Smith, 1999) – two authors,
(Adams et al., 2000) – if more than two authors or
(Adams, 1998; Adams & Smith, 1999; Adams et al., 2000) – in chronological order.
The references in the reference list should be in alphabetical order and in chronological order when several references by the same authors are given, and chronologically with several co-authors. If references are made to different articles by the same author(s) for a given year, these should be distinguished by appending a, b, etc., to the year (e.g. 1995a).
Quote journal names unabbreviated. References should only be cited as “in press” if the paper has been accepted for publication, in which case the journal name and volume number must be provided.
Procedure for submission of the manuscript
An electronic version of the manuscript including all tables, figures and illustrations (supplied as separate files) shall be sent by email to the address given below (event organizing office). Shortly after submission of the manuscript you will be informed that it has been received and if amendments need to be made.
Note! Abstracts shall also be sent to Bureau Enthoven!
